A new system for xeroprinting master was developed for the high speed printing process. This master has an electroconductive particles layer (EPL) on a soft enable thermoplastic layer (STL) which is on the carrier generation layer (CGL) sensitive to the laser diode. This master can memorize an electrostatic latent image through the migration of electroconductive particles from EPL to the bottom of STL. The migration occurs when the particles are charged and the master is heated.
In order to investigate the electrophotographic properties, some experiments were carried out on the relation between the initial surface potential (Vi) and the potential after migration (Vm). Then, it was found that the particles began to migrate when the surface potential was -100 - 200 V. Charge acceptance after migration became constant at -150 V.

A optical scanning apparatus for use with a compact lazer printer has been developed. This scanning apparatus has optical glass block, instead of an lens. To select a ratio (ratio of optical path length) of the whole length of an optical path, we can revise curvature of field. And, the scanning apparatus has electrical circuit for revising distortion. As a result, the scanning apparatus has been obtained with a print line of 11 inches and resolution of 400 dpi.
