Introduction to CG Education Using ChatGPT for Students of Artistic Disciplines

Abstract
For students in artistic disciplines, mastering computer-based image-generation techniques have become common. For this situation, it has become urgent for art students to acquire logical thinking and knowledge in CG production through programming. This paper discusses introductory CG education aimed at learning CG algorithms using ChatGPT. Two methods of using ChatGPT in exercises are explained to achieve this aim, and student works created based on these methods are introduced. The survey results related to this class are explained, along with a summary of their analysis and discussion. These results demonstrate the three practical aspects of this lecture and exercise. (1) Enhance interest in image generation. (2) Effectiveness for describing algorithms in Japanese. (3) CG artwork creation due to its enhancement of logical thinking.
