Abstract

"Identity of Kiyosu City" is the name of a research project requested by Kiyosu City which was undertaken by Koji Shibazaki's department at Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music in Heisei 20. Kiyosu City has been developing since Heisei 17 by combining 4 existing towns into a new city. The contract involved research to evaluate the positive characteristics of this new city and highlight its attractions. There are several parts to this effort. 1) Illustrations of the scenery and people of the area. 2) A blogsite to present research and show the present conditions in the area. 3) A flag with a compelling graphic design representing the names of the old towns which are incorporated in the new town and images of "The way to Mino". We hope our efforts will help people to know about the new town and build a sense of common identity.
