The purpose of this paper is to introduce a Kinect goggle syste m that helps a visually impaired user detect
obstacles and recognize objects, such as chairs or elevator doors, from daily indoor environments. Through a keypad,
the user can specify which object the system should search for. If the object is found, audio feedback will be provided.
Therefore, the output can be restrained only to the chosen object, which means a more efficient way of identifying the
desired object. The system was evaluated through object recognition tests in real office environments.
