In European and other continental countries, main architecture has been constructed in the style of symmetrical and centralized composition throughout their history. On the other hand, asymmetrical and pluralistic style is dominant in Japan. Applying the results of a study on spatial images in sand-play therapy, we try to analyze the cultural differences of spatial images in architecture from a psycho-social point of view. In this paper, we analyze the cases of sand-play constructions of two person, a Turk and a japanese, and show that spatial representation reflects the individual mental structure in each culture.
