This paper analyzes the collecting and exhibiting policy of the Victoria and Albert Museum(hereafter cited as the V&A) in the 1960s. It has been widely accepted that modernism in Britain had already declined, and was replaced by Pop culture that first appeared in the 1950s. However, it is necessary to revaluate the impact of modernism during the above period. The Analysis of the Circulation Department, which was in charge of collecting modern design in the V&A, shows that modernism was still dominant in British design, and that the V&A played a significant role in perpetuating this influence.
