Abstract
Object of this paper is to clarify the characteristic of thermal performance in underground shopping center, and to clarify the environmental influence of the regulation which is established from the point of safety. Survey for the energy consumption of 32 underground shopping centers and environmental measurement of four underground shopping centers were carried out. All of them were consuming a large amount of energy. Underground shopping centers which is built after the regulation have many entrances and out air comes in from them. In summer, it is cooler than outside, but in winter, a large amount of cold air comes in from the entrances.
