抄録
The purpose of this study is to show that architecture of Le Corbusier can be interpretated by means of a formal system. This formal system based on the set of rectangulars with certain ratios named "basic rectangulars", defines certain rules of articulation of them, i.e. "f", "g", "h" (defined in this paper), which are defined as notomappings, and the relationships between them. In part I the formal system is set up and several correspondences between the formal system and architecture are defined. And then Maison Domino and Maison Chitrohan are analyzed by means of the formal system. As a result, it is verified that the formal system has validity for interpretation on them.
