The present state of an existing building is the overriding parameter for establishing renovation guidelines. However, the plans or construction drawings required to assess the function and performance of a building are often missing. Other times, these documents are available, but are not updated with renovations or repair work. To address these discrepancies, we measured the mechanical room of a building using a 3D scanner, analyzing the effectiveness and usefulness of the information obtained.
