This paper summarized the outline of Suzaka City’s house register “Tatemono-Daicho”, and considered its historical position. Then the effectiveness of house register “Tatemono-Daicho” has been verified by field-work and analysis. As a result, it was shown that the house register “Tatemono-Daicho” was created by former Suzaka town for levying a tax in 1889. It shows, in addition, house register “Tatemono-Daicho” accurately recorded most of the residential lands information in former Suzaka town when the taxation reform was required. And it was positioned as an effective historical material to know the state of the buildings and the town.
