Do It Yourself Checklistによる都市内公共空間の評価と評価手法に対する考察

－ 岡山市西川エリアを対象に －

Recently, there has been an increase in the number of activities known as “placemaking”. Placemaking has been pioneered in the United States, and the “Do It Yourself Checklist” evaluation items proposed by PPS (Project for Public Spaces), a NPO based in NY, are widely recognized. No existing studies have evaluated spaces using the “Do It Yourself Checklist”. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to confirm the effectiveness of this item as a tool for space evaluation in Japanese public spaces. As a result of the study, some items were not validated as spatial assessment items in Japanese cities.
