抄録
It is important to understand residents' opinions in preservation of historic districts. Based on a case study in the preservation district of Sawara in Chiba prefecture, we analyzed the resident's opinions toward present conditions, future goal, residential needs, etc. As a result, it is concluded that residents consciousness toward preservation has improved. However, further promotion and consideration of the present regulations and guidelines is needed.
