The planning and design process of Shiraito machinami koryukan has been described, the building was built from old farmhouse as an office to manage Jonai-suwakoji preservation district for groups of historic buildings in Kanegasaki town. We had discussed the design indications for the purpose of not only historical preservation but communal activities and technical progress, and had considered that this indications are generally useful in the design for moving and reusing of an old house in a local community.
