This study analyses the effect of work supervision on employee performance at PT. Indonesian Metal Energy, a nickel
mining company located in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. A quantitative descriptive approach was applied
using simple linear regression to determine the influence of supervisory practices on work outcomes. The study involved all 25 employees of the company, selected through a saturated sampling (census) technique to ensure comprehensive
representation. Data were collected using a validated and reliable questionnaire designed on a 5-point Likert scale,
measuring aspects of supervision and performance. The results of the instrument testing confirmed that all items were
valid (r-count > 0.2017), while reliability tests produced Cronbach’s Alpha values of 0.612 for supervision and 0.749
for performance, indicating acceptable internal consistency. The regression analysis generated the equation Y = 3.942 + 0.729X, with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.104 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.110, implying that work
supervision explains 11.0% of the variation in employee performance. The t-test results (t = 5.673 > t-table = 1.661; sig = 0.000 < 0.05) confirmed that work supervision has a positive and statistically significant effect on employee
performance. These findings suggest that effective supervision contributes substantially to improved discipline,
productivity, and teamwork. The study concludes that strengthening supervisory quality and integrating complementary
factors such as compensation, workplace environment, and employee engagement are essential for sustaining high levels of performance and organizational success.
