On September 24th in 2005, the Release of white storks (ciconiaboyciana) has started in Toyooka, Hyogo Prefecture. Generally, farmers seem to be opposed to the Release, because there's problem caused by white storks to rice seedling in the old-time. But in questionnaire survey, farmers don't have negative position against the Release. Of course, many farmers are worrying about and reserve judgment of the Release. But the same time white storks are viewed as original birds in Toyooka and it's related to farmers'experience (ex: the old-time sighting). More study about relationship between farmers and white storks will be needed in the future.
