Recently, the society is becoming interested in biomass use. Nevertheless, inhabitant's cooperation is essential. This paper contains a conscious investigation for biomass and clarifies the inhabitant's knowledge about biomass. The Methodology used in this analysis was CVM and was made an evaluation of biomass use to the residents. This paper is based on questionnaires to Myoko citizens of Niigata Prefecture. According to the questionnaires results, biomass was recognized for 74% of the inhabitants. However, only 15% (of this 74%) have knowledge about biomass use. As a result of CVM, valuation of biomass use is about 153 million yen.
