This study clarifies what support policies are needed in the medium- to long-term, such as over 5 years, for farmers who are considering resuming farming at evacuation destinations. The support policies include processes of farming resumption at evacuation destinations and after return to the original destination. Our analysis of eight farmers' resumption processes of Iitate Village showed that for medium- to long-term evacuation, it was clearly necessary to maintain the farmers' motivation to resume farming and consider the farming style at that time.
