Keeping visibility toword broad landscape is one of the important function agricultural landuse. In purpose to clarify this function. we attached importance to the relationship between the actual physical from of local community and the landform as potential resource. In htis study we tried to compare them at 8 viewpoints in Fuji-Hokuroku (the northern foot of Mt. Fuji) area. To visualize the potential view from the ground level without artificial visual obstacles can provide, we simulated 3-D model using orthophotograph and DEM.
Through the comparison between the actual photographs and this potential views at the railroad stations, we pointed out that the neighboring existence of paddy fields effectively preserves the visibility of Mt. Fuji.
