The primary structure of porcine caerulo-plasmin was studied by paper chromato-graphy, paper electrophoresis and combination method of paper chromatography and electro-phoresis. The molecule is composed of common amino acids as well as three kinds of sugars. Both amino-terminal and carboxy-terminal amino acids were found to be phenylalanine. A sugar containing oligopep-tide was isolated after hydrolysis with Pro-nase-P. The peptide is made up of four amino acids : threonine, alanine, lysine and histidine. It was suggested that the sugar is bound to the ε-amino group of lysine.
