Abstract
In recent years, the population of Ulaanbaatar has grown rapidly due to the migration from rural areas, which causes many negative environmental impacts. The revision of the city Master Plan requires for working on the new situation of the city and for preparing a guideline to develop city infrastructure in sustainable manner. This paper reviews the environmental and social consideration in the Study on city Master Plan and urban development program of Ulaanbaatar city. The main result is that the environmental and social consideration procedure applied in the Study sufficiently corresponds to the integrated mixed process of Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA).
