Implementation of The Environmental Education Act and the Situations of Community-managed Environmental Education in Taiwan

Abstract

Taiwan enacted The Environmental Education Act in 2010, made environmental education mandatory for several kinds of authorities (for example, elementary, junior, senior high school or government offices), and produced three kinds of certifications including environmental education institution, personnel and facility (or venue) to promote it. This act encouraged a type of community-managed environmental education. The aim of this study is to disclose the implementation of environmental education following this act and the situation of community-managed environmental education.
