Abstract

While tourism has been promoted in Hulun Lake Nature Reserve since 2012, tourism has been affecting the lives of local residents. The objective of this research is to clarify attitudinal differences towards tourism between tourists and local residents, with the Hulun Lake Nature Reserve set as a subject. In August 2014, Questionnaire survey items were derived from the result of the initial interview research. This survey was administered from the end of August until the middle of October in 2014. A chi-square test was applied for the result analysis. An attitudinal difference between tourists (n=465) and local residents (n=1,647) was detected in two areas: regional understanding, and influences of facility establishment.
