Abstract

The purpose of this research is to focus on inquiry learning activities at upper secondary schools, to develop an environmental education program using CO2 concentration data in the living environment sphere, and to clarify its effectiveness. For this reason, we have prepared a learning guidance plan that describes the basic dynamics of CO2 concentration in the living environment zone, the method of measuring CO2 concentration around the school, etc. Based on this, we conducted the environmental education for five high schools in Japan and Taiwan and carried out a questionnaire survey to examine the educational effect. As a result, we identified the need to continue the inquiry learning such as many students showed interest in the learning content, etc.
