Abstract

Escalators are widely used as devices that can efficiently transport a large number of users. It is necessary for people to be able to use it safely and with peace of mind. However, many accidents have occurred on escalators. The purpose of this study is to organize the data of escalator accidents and analytically clarifies the characteristics from the causes and situations of the accidents. As a result, it was shown that the risk of accidents was higher for those who were drunk and for the elderly, elderly people are often transported by ambulance and the accident factors are characteristic depending on the time of day.
