Abstract

In this study, we ascertained the reservoir hazard maps in 19 cities in Osaka Prefecture to understand the contents and its expression method. Then we explored the issues to promote public awareness and understanding of reservoir disasters and encourage the use of reservoir hazard map. The results showed that the contents of reservoirs hazard maps can be classified into following categories: basic information on reservoir, information on estimated flood map, information on disasters and evacuation, and information on everyday preparations. These descriptions were devised on each city. We also considered the current reaching point and issues on reservoir hazard maps in terms of disaster response and everyday preparation.
