発芽種子の生長点のコルヒチン処理によって,若干の異常個体を得,その中の1個体は4倍体であることを確認した.現在のところ,4倍体は生長おそく,矮小である.
茶樹のコルヒチン処理では,溶液が生長点によく濃透するように,処理の時期と時間及び濃度に留意すべきである.
Colchicine treatment of the growing point of young tea shoots was made, just after the tea seeds had germinated. Some abnormal shoots grew out of the treated seedlings and one of them was determined to be a tetraploid by chromosome counting. At present, the tetraploid plant showed slow growing and dwarf form.
In the colchicine treatment of the tea plant, we have to pay attention to the time and duration of the treatment and the concentration of the solution so that the solution might well penetrate into the growth point of the tissues.
