1) This paper is concerned with the weighings on the body, the ovary and the oviduct as well as with the linear measurements on the oviduct in two varieties of the birds, the White and Brown Leghorns during the first year egg production.
2) The range, mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variability for the weights of the body, the ovary and the oviduct, and the whole length of the oviduct were calculated.
3) The oviducal length exhibited the least range of variability, the value for the coefficient of variability was, therefore less than that of any other characters.
4) The coefficient of variability for the ovarian weight was the greatest of any other characters studied.
5) The mean in the body weight of the bird was of less value as compared with the standard weight of Leghorn in Japan.
6) The mean in the weight of the oviduct was larger than that of the ovary, though the range in the weight of the former was distinctly less than that of the latter.
7) The linear measurements on the length of various parts of in dividual oviduct were made and its percentage for whole oviduct were calculated.
8) The longest part of the oviduct was the part of albumen portion and the shortest one was that of the uterus. The other three parts of the oviduct have almost equal in absolute length and also in its percentage.
9) In order to determine the relationship between two characters of the weights of the body, the ovary and the oviduct as well as the length of oviduct the correlation coefficients of six pairs of these characters were calculated respectively.
10) All of these correlation coefficients were positive and rather high. The correlation coeffiicient between the body weight and the ovarian weight was heighest and that between the body weight and the oviducal length was lowest.
11) The correlations between the oviducal length and other characters were fairly lower than the correlations of the characters concerned with the weight.
