Milk composition of beef cows with their suckling calves was examined using the average of milk before and after suckling sampled by hand milking within 26 weeks after calving. The concentration of milk fat and total solids before suckling were lower than those after suckling. The concentration of milk protein, lactose and solids-not-fat before suckling were almost equal to them after suckling. The daily milk yield changed following weeks after calving, but the milk composition did not change.
