This study proposes a new approach for phase-resolved transfer function (TRF) tuning using the measured ship responses. In the present approach, using multiple ship response measurements, multiple pseudo-incident waves are reconstructed based on the method by Takami et al., by using the CFE-based TRFs that are parameterized by principal particulars. Following this, the parameters in the CFE-based TRFs are identified by optimization in such a way that errors between the multiple pseudo-incident waves are minimized. Heave, pitch, and vertical bending moment (VBM) amidships are used. Numerical investigations are made by using synthetically generated long-crested irregular waves and the resulting wave-induced ship responses therein.
