Abstract
Direct introduction of higher α-acetamidoalkyl groupings into the nuclei of β-naphthol and 2, 6-xylenol was accomplished by their reactions with the corresponding N, N'-alkyl-idenebisamides in the presence of phosphoryl chloride.
