Synthesis of coenzyme A using thiazoline (Vb) as intermediate is described. D-Pantothenonitrile (I) was treated with adenosine 2', 3'-cyclic phosphate 5'-phosphoromorpholidate (IIb) in pyridine followed by ribonuclease T2 to yield P1-adenosine 3'-phosphate 5'-P2-D-pantothenonitrile 4'-pyrophosphate (IVb). Condensation of IV b with cysteamine gave thiazoline (Vb), which was then hydrolyzed to afford coenzyme A.
