Abstract
The activities of demethylating enzymes were decreased by adrenalectomy, but were stimulated by the administration of phenobarbital or cortisone in the liver of adrenalectomized rats. Incorporation of 14C-labeled amino acid into liver microsomal proteins of adrenalectomized rats was apparently increased by the administration of phenobarbital. The magnitude of phenobarbital-effect was decreased by pretreatment with puromycin and 8-azaguanine in intact animals.
