Abstract
Photolysis of an aqueous ethanolic solution of p-toluenesulfonamide (IId-f, IIIe-h, IVc-d and Vd-f) and Na2CO3 in the presence of NaBH4 was found to give the corres-ponding free amine (IIa-c, IIIa-d, IVa-b and Va-c) in moderate yield. The mechanistic pathway of this reaction was deduced.
