Syntheses of 3-substituted 2, 4-dioxo-1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7-hexahydro-5H-cyclopenta [d] pyrimidines (3-substituents : methyl, cyclohexyl, phenyl) from 2-ethoxycarbonylcyclopentanone were investigated. These compounds were alkylated in 1-position to give 1, 3-disubstituted pyrimidine derivatives (1-substituents : CH3, CH2COOR, CH2CONR2, CH2CH2NR2). Their acute toxicities and analgetic, antipyretic, and antiinflammatory activities were tested.
