Abstract

The biosynthetic origins of pyrindicin, a metabolite of Streptomyces griseoflavus var. pyrindicus, have been investigated by the use of ¹³C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. It has been established that pyrindicin is derived from five acetates and one propionate.
