Studies on Peptides. CX. Solution Synthesis of the Tetratriacontapeptide Amide corresponding to Positions 1 to 34 of Human Parathyroid Hormone

The tetratriacontapeptide amide corresponding to positions 1 to 34 of human parathyroid hormone, H-(hPTH 1-34)-NH₂, was synthesized by the solution method. As a deprotecting reagent, 1M trifluoromethanesulfonic acid-thioanisole in trifluoroacetic acid was employed. When mouse bone adenyl cyclase activity was measured, our synthetic active fragment of human PTH exhibited an activity of 3380-4400 IU/mg.
