Minor Cardenolide Glycosides and a Cardenolide from the Leaves of Anodendron affine (Anodendron. VIII)

Abstract

Minor cardenolide glycosides, including 3-O-(4, 6-dideoxy-3-O-methyl-Δ³-D-hexosulosyl)-affinogenin L_d (affinoside O), 3-O-(4, 6-dideoxy-3-O-methyl-D-allosyl)-affinogenin H (affinoside N), and Δ¹⁶-affinoside M (affinoside I) were isolated along with the 3, 16-diacetate of 2β, 3β, 14, 16β-tetrahydroxy-11-oxo-5β, 14β-card-20(22)-enolide (affinogenin D-VI), from the leaves of Anodendron affine DRUCE. The conformations of rings A and B in the doubly linked glycosides and free aglycones are discussed.
