Abstract

The absolute stereostructure of arenastatin A (1), which was isolated from the Okinawan marine sponge Dysidea arenaria, has been determined on the bases of NMR and synthetic studies. Arenastatin A (1) is a cyclic depsipeptide exhibiting extremely potent cytotoxicity against KB cells with IC₅₀ 5pg/ml.
