From Thiopheneboroles to Boron-containing Conjugated Macromolecules via Electropolymerization

Electropolymerization of thiophene-3-boroles was successfully carried out in the presence of BF₃-OEt₂ as roles of supporting electrolyte and lowering their oxidation potentials. The obtained polythiophenes having borole moieties showed broadening energy band due to the extended conjugated system via the borole side chain.
