Weather Resistance of Fluoro Resin Coating Materials for Aluminum Panels after 10 Years Outdoor Exposure

Abstract

In this paper, the weather resistance of baking finish coating materials for aluminum panels was investigated. Exposure test to compare the weather resistance of fluoro resin coating materials for three kinds of resins were performed in Yokohama after 10 years. It was found that fluoro resin coating materials showed the best weather resistance superior to polyurethane resin coating materials, but there showed the difference of weather resistance among the same fluoro resin. Therefore difference of weather resistance was due to difference of pigment character, pigment volume concentration and dispersion of pigment.
