Development of Deodorizing Paints with Zeolite

Part 1 Outline of Experiment, Investigation of Odor in Hospital and Laboratory Experiment

Abstract

In modern buildings, comfortable spaces have been provided by means of high-insulation performance and high-airtightness. On the other hand, regarding with smell, there are many problems in buildings, especially in hospitals, and there exists bad smell in not only lavatories and sanitary rooms but also sick rooms. Therefore, the authors have designed deodorizing paint by means of diluting paint with zeolite. This paper describes the outline of the development, the investigation of odor in hospital and the results of the performance test of removing gasses and of resolving gasses by means of developed deodorizing paint in laboratory experiment.
