Abstract

Compared to 2-component modified silicone sealant and 2-component polysulfide sealant widely used in exposure specifications for sealant for construction, the 2-component aromatic acrylic urethane sealant of the commercial product has the same durability. However, due to its aromatic type, there is concern about surface weather resistance. Also, since the adhesiveness of the surface of the sealant keeps for a long period of time, when it is exposed, it becomes dirty due to adhesion of dust.If these problems can be solved, even a 2-component acrylic urethane sealant seems to be usable for general purpose with exposure specifications. Therefore, we investigate the possibility of 2-component acrylic urethane sealant.In order to solve the above problem, it became possible to improve surface weather resistance and surface stain by using 2-component aliphatic acryl urethane sealant and furthermore our proprietary acrylic modified resin.We report the results of comparative study on fatigue resistance, durability, surface weather resistance and surface stain of 2-component modified silicone, 2-component polysulfide and 2-component (aromatic, aliphatic) acryl urethane sealant.
