Simple Estimation Method of the Risk of Condominium Repair Fund Shortage

Abstract

Since condominium repair work is extremely costly to the residents, they usually accumulate a fund monthly. However, some earlier reports suggest that the monthly accumulated amount is insufficient to the required amount. This study visualizes spatial pattern of the risk of condominium repair fund shortage in Tokyo metropolitan area. We estimate both the repair cost per household and the household income. The result shows that the risk tends to be higher if the condominium is located far from railway station or if the nearby station of the condominium is far from the downtown.
