抄録

The objectives of science education should change and progress in accoding to the improvement of science and technology in a modern society. The contents and methods in science teaching are selected and organized in order to attain the objectives of science education or science as a subject, then they should be adequate to attain them. To-day the main objectives of science education are the developmnt of scientific concepts, the development of critical and creative thinking, and the learning of scientific methods and attitudes. In other words, the function of science education is to learn how to know the nature, how to discovery the regularities in nature. Then the structures of educational contents and methods in science teaching are discussed. Scientific methods contain the pattern of scientific research, so this paper tries to clarify the functions of facts, concepts, hypotheses, laws, theories, induction, and deduction, and the relations among them. Several cases are cited from C B A Chemistry and C H E M Study Chemistry texts.
