The authors already reported in the Bulletin of society of Japan science Teaching NO. 2 (1962), how to consider the history of science in Soviet scienec teaching. From this point of view, what the authors studied in the textbook of physics and chemistry of the eight years school in USSR. was how ther introduce the method to teach the conception of a tom and molecule as a case history to the pupils. From the result of study, the authors found that the learning process to intro duce the conception of atom and molecule in USSR was considerablly different from that of western countries. This is due to the fact that the estimations councerning of the contribution toward the study of science of M. V. Lomonosov in U.S. S. R. are much higher than that in western countries. In the present situation of Japan the opinion to the eatimation to him among the japanese scholars of scientific history are largely different. In order to make certain that which of the textbook between U.S. S. R. and western countries are more faihful to the historical facts, the authors want to stress the necessity of the fuller study of the alltactiviies of M. V. Lomonsov as a natural scientist.
