Calcium carbonate, which is made from limestone available in all over Japan, has widely been used as fillers for various fields like rubber, plastics and paint, etc. In this paper, function and role of calcium carbonate, especially the ultrafine synthetic calcium carbonate, applied for rubber is reviewed. In this report, ultrafine synthetic calcium carbonate is focused and its function & role applied for rubber is introduced.
