The painting studied here was recently donated by individuals living in Paris, but its previous history is unknown. It is damaged entirely and has never been exhibited even in permanent exhibitions.
Fortunately I was able to perform a scientific investigation of this picture. I conclude that this picture is a wonderful work that was produced in Japan in the 14th century.
By considering several other works with the same composition as this picture, I show the process of establishing this “Amida Sanzon Raigō-zu.”
