The relation between the structure of ecological flow-networks and its stability is studied. An index of stability is proposed based on information contained in the structure of the network. Using simulation of Volterra-like flow networks, the effectiveness of the index is ensured. Several insights about real ecological systems are explained using the proposed index. Especially, one of the results gives some support to an experimental result «the structure of foodwebs under fluctuation is simpler than that under constant environments»
