This paper analyzes the career development of highly skilled foreign workers, with a particular focus on Indian IT engineers who work on a project basis in Japanese firms. The paper illuminates the intersections between the unstable employment conditions of Indian IT workers and their career aspirations and development The paper also discusses how a career analysis of foreign workers can contribute to widening the research scope of intercultural education.
