Over 18 weeks before, during and after treatment (insulin coma treatment, repeated electroshock therapy by ear-application, prefrontal Ieucotomy and chlorpromazine administration), thickness of the subcutaneous fat at 62 parts of the body was measured by the folding method in 64 schozophrenics (48 males and 16 females).
The results were arranged by sex and parts of the body and by each treatment and each period of time. All of them were estimated by percentage. When these cases are assessed it is seen that those who were responded to treatments showed more increase of the subcutaneous fat and the body-weight than those not responding to therapy.
